These dogs are NOT pedigree. They have been bred to work as family friendly security, not to show.
After keeping dobes for 20 years,(now 30) we felt the true working strain and original intent of the beed had been sacrificed for the show ring.
It was near impossible to find dogs to suit our needs of independent intelligence, trainability and the calm, confidentversatility to accompany its master anywhere.A very affectionate dog able to adapt to different lifestyles and accept other animals into their protective circle yet still be protective and on guard instantly when needed. Not a savage menace, but a protective and intelligent best friend to watch your back.
the crunch came when a dangerous intruder entered the propery.the Dobe I relied on to prevent access to my home where 3 small children waited let me down badly. We were determined never to be in thatsituation again.
After years of searching we finaly  found dogs that fit our own high standards. The pedigree was sacrificed as we came to believe the purpose and reliability must come 1st and it  was much easier to find suitable dogs when a standard with little bearing on effectiveness kept getting in the way.We found what we were looking for after 6 years.
the reaction we get to our dogs has been terrific as others have been having the same problems.we 1st bred only to preserve what took so long to find but now breed for a demand.
Our dogs are 1st and foremost for our own pleasure and protection, living as part of the family, not kenneled so 1 litter a year at most is bred.
both parents are excellent family and farm guardians, able to live with other animalsand accept visitors in a friendly manner as long as the visitors enter the premmises with our visible consent and obey he basic rule of non aggression. We believe a scurity dog is useless if it needs to be confined and not there when needed.
Those raised with children have proven to be gentle companions and playmates, often showing a strong sense of responsibility to their young charges.
The more these dogs are included in your life while setting firm boundaries, the better they have been.
Below are pictures and information on our dogs.Pics will enlarge if you click on them.

Pids is our male,3/4 dobe,1/4 Rottwieler. He stands a huge and rock solid 30 inches at the shoulder.
Pids is likely the most intelligent and trainable dog I have ever encountered. He is calm and confident without being overbearing or pushy. He is very protevtive of all who live here, human or beast and looks after those more vulnerable. He plays very gently with our tiny terrier female, protecting her from Moss if the terrier tries to get too bossy for her own good, which she often does being a very jelous  little dog!
He shows talent in obedience, personal protection and tracking/detection.
Pids is very affectionate and keen to please, never needing more than a growl from us to realise he is doing some thing not acceptable, tho' he rearely does.
He has a  predatory stare and monstrous growl.he  is very vocal with it,though its most often used to warn the girls away from his dinner bowl.that doesn't get him any where with Moss, who seems to say" I didn't even want it.but if you are going to be like that I will eat it anyway!"

Pids loves his squeaky toys, belly rubs and cuddles.
He is very active and agile for such a big boy.Visitors can find him very intimidating with his stare and growl, but once he knows they are welcome as we open the gate,he settles imidiately and greets them with a wagging tail anfd huge "smile".
Pids is loyal, loving, affectionate and very eager to please in any way he can while remaining very clearly protective of his family.

From our 2nd litter.
This pup above was my favourite for a security role and the hardest to place for that reason. Both homes needing  her traits wanted males for the job.She was a very dominant, utterly fearless, intelligent  pup, athletic, strong, powerful and very big! Unfortunatly for me ,security personel have learned to distrust the strength of those traits in Dobermans in Australia today and 2 security homes were talked out of her by trainers.I started her training myself  before she found an owner with the confidence and experience to take her on.
I found he to be very intelligent and easily trained, but needing loads of mental stimulation. She was easily bored and always wanting more.

Her new owner describes her as 'Hilarious" so I think we found a good match in the end.
She says"she is wonderfull! She is hilarious. She is getting quite big now. Will send pics soon.
She is so strong  my mum had tied her to the clothes line while she got her food.I'd been away 2 days and when she saw me at the back door she snapped the leash.
This was 2 months ago and shes a lot stronger now.
Shes very smart but quite stubborn when she wants to be.I love her to death though.
No health problems to report so far,but she still gets car sick.I hoped she would have grown out of that by now.Thank you so much.
She also said  in an earlier email that" She is  utterly fearless to the extent that she will ignore warning growls from strange dogs and became top dog amongst 2 older malamutes within weeks of arriving.

Above from 1st litter,

 2nd litter.
In short, tickford is doing great! You are a true assett to the canine world, your work delivers results!
Tickford and I have recently finished our training with a K9 centre in Personal Protection and compound protection.
He excelled at both and and was showing strong talent in detection work but i simply didn't have the funds to continue.
we have already had 2 requests for stud duties, though he is way too young and I'm not sure I would want that anyway.
He looks more like his dad each day.

Tickford was another of our very dominant pups(He just had the sense to let his more aggressive sister have final say.She was extrordinarily dominant!) I picked him as a very dominant character and felt he was one of the most intelligent pups I have seen. You could almost see his mind working.
he also suffers from car sickness, though I believe these are the only 2 who have not yet grown out of it and their grand dam did not till nearly 2 years.
