Paha Sapa is  the sacred place of the Native American Sioux people(Lakota).Also Known as the Black Hills of Dakota,

and the name of our 25 acre permaculture farm nestled along the Worrobil Ridge near Mudgee,N.S.W. As well as horses,we produce fine,eirloom timber pieces and Dobermans as reliable family and farm guardians.

After switching from Welsh and Arabian ponies,we have been estabished since 1990.

Horses are chosen for sound conformation and beauty.A balanced and proportionate horse in miniature.

We strive for an Arabian type,compact with large eye,refined, dry head and tiny muzzle.Slender neck,well defined shoulder and withers,good chest and round barrel.A relativly high tail set on strong hindquarters with clean,straight legs and with a calm,curious nature,accepting but aware.

Paha Sapa has a wide variety to chose from with palomino,pinto, solids appaloosa and combinations of these.By restricting numbers we keep only those most suited to our own breeding program at any time.Sales horses at this stage are all very hard choices,as we are very pleased with the results of our program.All breeding stock is of show quality and improves year by year.Much of what we are producing is suited to any discipline,be it performance,halter, harness,or even a loving family member.Naturaly,we believe that all this makes our horses a logical choice for those seeking a quality breeder as well.We get to know each of our horses, give individual care and attention.Most of our mares can be called singly from the herd.All are regularly handled,drenched, and have their feet done.

  There may be no such thing as the perfect horse,but we owe it to the future of the breed to aim there anyway! A geneticaly reliable athletic type is more important than country of origin.

A link to my husbands heirloom timber site at the bottom of this page is worth a look.His work is selling to international collectors. The guitar stands are possibly the best in the world if both beauty and function matter.He is now making guitars as well.

His repeat buyers seem to agree with the majority being sold to the U.S.A. where quality timber craftmanship is highly valued.
